Jessica’s 2nd Power of Posture Workshop: Unlocking stability and Freedom in your low back and hips is Saturday, November 22nd 1:30—4:00pm
An interactive yoga workshop to release stiffness, ease pain and gain greater understanding of your lower back, hips and their connection. Join Jessica Gonsiorowski for a transformative workshop designed to help you explore the relationship between your posture, movement patterns, and the health of your lower back and hips. Through posture exploration, yoga poses, basic anatomy, and mindful awareness, you will gain insight into how stiffness, weakness, or even pain in this area might be influenced by the way you carry yourself.
Although yoga is a great support in keeping your body healthy, it is not uncommon to take these imbalances into your yoga practice and therefore perpetuate some of these imbalances. Low back pain is omnipresent in modern life and one of the main reasons students turn to yoga. It’s estimated that up to 80% of people will experience back pain at some point. Causes vary—from structural issues and spinal injuries to poor posture habits and muscular imbalances like weakness or tightness. Hip health plays a key role in preventing and relieving low back pain. The hips and lower back are closely connected, and dysfunction in one often affects the other. Prolonged sitting and repetitive movements can lead to tight hip flexors and weak glutes, placing extra strain on the lumbar spine and altering posture.
Throughout these 2.5 hours you will learn:
• Basic anatomy of the lumbar spine and pelvis
• Posture and alignment exploration
• Stretching and strengthening key muscles for better support and mobility
• Breath practices
• Stress reduction practices
• Utilizing props to adapt the practice in a personalized way
Expand your yoga practice or come and start your yoga journey in these intelligently developed and empowering classes and move towards more functional alignment and movement in your daily life on and off the mat.
This workshop is for you if :
• You are experiencing stiffness or pain in the lower back and hips
• You have reduced mobility in your hips
• You have gait dysfunction
• You have SI joint pain
• You Experience Stress and anxiety
• You want to improve your posture and movement patterns

Born and raised in Germany by a German mom and American father, Jessica enjoyed a multicultural upbringing. Her parents focused on a wholesome education and felt the passion and importance of traveling and experiencing other countries’ cultures. This, Jessica believes, instilled a great sense of curiosity within herself.
Jessica took her first yoga class when she was 19 years old and noticed its uniqueness from the beginning. In her late twenties, as a mother of two she found herself out of balance, which motivated her to a more intensive yoga practice. Learning to be present and to let go of thoughts and stressors, as well as finding inner strength through creating a strong body, enabled her to feel better and reconnect with herself. Getting comfortable with change and staying curious about herself is still at the heart of her practice and teachings.
Inspired by her own teacher, in 2015 she decided to enroll in the 200-hour teacher training at Bloom Yoga Studio, followed by the 85- hour prenatal Teacher training at Bloom in 2017. To include and serve a variety of students at all stages of their life, Jessica dove deeper into her studies of yoga with a focus on the therapeutic approach. She earned her 500 hours advanced teaching certificate with Prairie Yoga in 2021 to become a Yoga Alliance registered 500 yoga teacher. She has since served as a mentor to that program and spent hundreds of hours supporting students and working Yoga Therapist Linda Troutman of Head to Toe Yoga. Jessica has been successfully leading therapeutic Yoga workshops throughout Chicagoland since 2021 in which she serves long time yoga practitioners, yoga teachers as well as non-yoga practitioners that are curious to learn more about themselves and seeking solutions to feeling better. In her work Jessica utilizes all aspects of the yoga practice. She strives to create a balance between honoring the ancient tradition of yoga and using the newest scientifically researched approaches on yoga, movement, and resilience. Her approach is holistic, benevolent, and professional. Her goal working with her students is to offer tools to cultivate more resilience in their life, to remain curious about themselves and hopeful for the future. Jessica is the co-creator and a lead trainer of Bloom’s 300 advanced yoga teacher training program.
