Beginner/All-level Classes:

Vinyasa Basics

Perfect for beginning yoga students as well as students of all-levels looking to refresh the central importance of the physical practice. This class will teach individuals the basic fundamentals of Vinyasa yoga. Students will learn yogic breathing, how to connect breath to movement through aligning the body, and how to find clarity in the mind, leading to relaxation and stress relief. Beginners and all-levels welcome.

Yin

Yin is the cool, lunar, passive aspect of the Yoga asana (posture) practice. Asanas are held for 3-5 minutes to allow the denser layers of the body to unwind. Yin opens the connective tissues versus the muscles and allows practitioners to experience greater range of motion and flexibility. This class is a perfect compliment to a Power Vinyasa yoga practice and great for anyone who sits or stands during their day. Let the body and the mind rest into stillness as you find the yin to your yang. Beginners and all-levels welcome.

VinYin

Just like it sounds- come to this class for Vinyasa AND Yin! Opposing forces and complementary opposites combined into one class to balance your body, mind, and spirit. The first half of this class is vinyasa, or flow. We will move mindfully and find heat in some strong and active postures. The second half will be cool and still, so we can seek openness and surrender in the body and mind. You will leave feeling physically rejuvenated and refreshed mentally. Beginners and all-levels welcome.

Yin + Yoga Nidra

Yin is the cool, lunar, passive aspect of the Yoga asana (posture) practice. Asanas are held for 3-5 minutes to allow the denser layers of the body to unwind. Yin opens the connective tissues versus the muscles and allows practitioners to experience greater range of motion and flexibility. This class is a perfect compliment to a Power Vinyasa yoga practice and great for anyone who sits or stands during their day. Let the body and the mind rest into stillness as you find the yin to your yang.
After 75 minutes of Yin, we will transition into Yoga Nidra, or Yogic Sleep, for the final 30 minutes of class. In Yoga Nidra,  you will be guided into a hypnagogic state of consciousness where you are between waking and sleeping. It is a state in which the body is completely relaxed, and the practitioner becomes systematically and increasingly aware of their inner world. Once the body is relaxed, the inner world that is experienced can be explored by traveling through and penetrating the Pancha Maya Koshas, or 5 layers of our being. "While Yoga Nidra is not a substitute for actual sleep, one hour of Yoga Nidra practice is equivalent to four hours of sleep.  This is due to the series of brain waves experienced along the way. With practice, you’ll eventually be able to enter the delta brainwave state but remain aware.  It resembles what it feels like to be on the verge of being awake and asleep. The conscious experience of deep sleep is what makes it so restorative and unique." (Saraswati 1998, Kumar 2008)

This class is suitable for all abilities and anyone wanting to feel present, relaxed, and rejuvenated. Most of our postures are practiced on the floor. Feel free to wear cozy clothes or bring layers so you are comfortable in our practice of Yoga Nidra at the end.

Slow Flow

In our busy lives, it’s important we take the time to slow down. Slow flow helps us begin slowing down and taking a pause to appreciate this present moment. We will take time in each posture to find correct alignment, breathe through any blockages, and allow our bodies and minds to settle in. Through this stillness we can find clarity and contentment. By moving slow and gazing inward we begin to clean and clear out the unnecessary things that weigh us down. From there we can learn to let go and experience the freedom and joy this moment has to offer. Beginners and all-levels welcome.

Release & Restored

Discover the possibilities of your true potential through yoga asanas that warm, release and restore enhanced by myofascial release. Class will begin with connection to our breath and inner dimension followed by warming asanas to increase blood flow and sensitivity of the nervous system. Next, we will implement myofascial release techniques with movement to release knots, hyperirritable spots and built up tension from the work week. You’ll leave feeling refreshed, lengthened and spacious. Beginners and all-levels welcome.

Vinyasa

Vinyasa translates as “placing with intention”. This class is a dynamic sequence of postures which all connect to each other using your breath. We begin slow and build on the sequence depending on your individual level. As you find the flow of your poses, you being to find the flow from the tangible aspects of your being, to the intangible. Balancing us from the gross aspects, all the way to the subtle vibrations on a cellular level. This creates a marriage of our movement and our breath, creating balance in our bodies, our minds, and spirits. All-levels welcome.

Chair Yoga

This gentle class uses both the yoga mat and a chair to practice postures and breathing exercises. Students can experience the many benefits of a physical yoga practice without having to get up and down from the floor. Benefits include increased balance, strength, flexibility, range of motion, and stress reduction.  Using the shape and intention of traditional poses, we will provide modifcations to allow students to participate in the pose without the need to stand for extended periods of time or get up and down from the floor.  For some poses, modifications may be available to use the wall rather than a chair as appropriate. This class is suitable for students in a wheelchair also. All chairs and props are provided in-studio.

Yoga for Healthy Living

This class is appropriate for all ages.  We focus on alignment, strength and balance to support health and well-being.  We move through a sequence of poses, but the class does not “flow” like vinyasa classes do.  Poses are explained and appropriate modifications are found to support different physical conditions.  If you are looking for a basic understanding of poses, want a slower paced class, or if you need to take a break from more vigorous styles of yoga - this could be your class!  Students need to be able to get up and down from the floor.  We will have chairs available for balance assistance and seated modifications.

Props are used to support the entire body in postures, while gently aiding the body in relaxation. This class is appropriate for students of all levels.

Children's Yoga

Children benefit from yoga in so many ways, just like adults.  Children will practice for self-health, relaxation, and inner fulfillment so that they too can manage their life challenges with a little more ease.

Yoga at an early age encourages self-esteem and body awareness in a non-competitive manner. Fostering compassion while enhancing their flexibility, strength and coordination.

Children will learn to manage stress through breath awareness, meditation and healthy movement, practicing concentration, all while increasing their confidence and positive self-image.

All-level/Intermediate Classes:

Ashtanga Vinyasa Primary Series

In this class, we begin to explore a set series of postures that synchronize with the breath. The first series is known as "Yoga Chikitsa" or Yoga therapy. It includes many forward folds and twists, aiding in detoxification of the body and purification of the mind and spirit. Through consistent practice of Ashtanga, you can begin to see how each time you come to the mat you are different. You develop the ability to observe how your daily life and environment affect you. You can observe what truly serves you and what doesn’t. These traditional series allows practitioners to become the observers of the self and begin to cultivate a greater sense of presence and peace while challenging the physical body and preparing to still the mind. Not recommended for brand new students. All-level/Intermediate class.

Aromatherapy Vinyasa

Just like our Vinyasa class, but with the addition of essential oils.  Treat yourself to this luxuriously scented vinyasa where the postures and energy of the room all invigorate each other. All-levels welcome.

All-Level Power Vinyasa

The “power” in Power yoga isn’t about powering through the poses, but instead, finding your own power within. This challenging flow has roots in Ashtanga Yoga. We will practice traditional postures, focus on alignment, and link them together using your breath. When challenged physically, the mind can begin to clear, and as the breath becomes steady and deeper, you’ll feel your own energy flow stronger, allowing your spirit to shine. Detoxify the body and purify the mind in this powerful class and leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Not recommended for brand new students. All-levels to Intermediate welcome.

Heated Power Vinyasa

Just like our Power Vinyasa class, but heated. This 5-10 degree increase in temperature will add to the challenge. Not recommended for brand new students. Average room temperature is between 85-90 degrees.

Open Practice

Open Practice is time in the studio to engage in your own self-study and practice while having access to props and shared energy of others practicing in the room. This class is not led by any teacher. Ashtanga Vinyasa Primary Sequence sheets will be available, if you need a sequence to follow. Otherwise, you may practice any other style of your choosing. Class passes and unlimited passes can be used or only $5 to drop-in!
